Fireworks and Fables is a varied disc of music ranging from Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks to Ravel's Mother Goose Suite. The four harps sound as clear as a bell in the beautiful acoustic of Southgate Parish Church. The CD includes a new Spanish themed work by Eleanor Turner and Harriet Adie's evocative 'Sun, Moon and Stars', which depicts her childhood spent in the Middle East. There is well-known music from Saint-Saens' Carnival of the Animals, beautifully arranged for the harp quartet, and exciting collaborations with Indian tabla player Sanju Sahai, and jazz musicians Chris Marshall (drum kit) and Matt Ridley (double bass) in Edward Longstaff's 'Saraswati' and Gershwin's 'Summertime'.
